A Disabled Facilities Grant through the council can help with the cost, and we would never talk anyone out of applying. What we will say plainly is that assessment and approval usually take considerably longer than a hospital discharge allows.

The discharge date is next week. Is that even possible?
Sometimes, depending on the work needed and where we are with existing jobs. Ring us and we will give you a straight answer the same day rather than leaving you hoping.
Will it fit in the existing bathroom?
Usually, yes. A level-access shower normally goes in where the bath is now, so the room does not need to change shape. That is a large part of why it can be done quickly.
Can you work to the occupational therapist's recommendations?
Yes. Bring the report or the notes to the home visit and we will design around them. Confirm wording with the client.
Do I have to be the homeowner to arrange this?
You need the homeowner's agreement, but it is very common for us to deal with a son or daughter throughout while their parent is still in hospital.
What if we cannot get it finished in time?
We will tell you before you commit, and we will explain what could be done as an interim measure. We would rather lose the job than leave someone with a half-finished bathroom on discharge day.
